Qurbani 1447 AH | Feeling Blessed

Share Qurbani. Share Blessings.

Every Dhul Hijjah, millions of Muslims fulfill the Sunnah of Qurbani, an act of Ibadah rooted in the faith and submission of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام. Yet for many families, Eid passes without the blessing of meat on their table. Your Qurbani through Feeling Blessed can change that.

When Your Qurbani Reaches Those Who Need It

When your Qurbani reaches families in need, it becomes more than food. Through your sacrifice, the spirit of Qurbani lives on.

"Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but what reaches Him is your piety.”

A Reminder From The Quran

Allah reminds believers of the spirit behind Qurbani.

"So pray to your Lord and sacrifice.”

Quran 108:2

And Allah also says,

"Neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but what reaches Him is your piety.”

Quran 22:37

These verses remind us that Qurbani is not only about the sacrifice itself. It is about sincerity, devotion, and remembering Allah while caring for others.

Qurbani FAQs

Qurbani is the act of sacrificing an animal during Eid al Adha in the days of Dhul Hijjah. It is performed in remembrance of the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام and his willingness to obey Allah.

Qurbani is carried out after the Eid prayer on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah and can be performed until sunset on the 12th or 13th of Dhul Hijjah, depending on scholarly opinion. Nonprofits accepting Qurbani on Feeling Blessed will aim to fulfill all donations within this 3-4 day time period. It should be noted that the Qurbani is performed in accordance with the time zone of the recipients’ locality, not the donor. Donate your Qurbani now with Feeling Blessed!

Qurbani is required for every adult Muslim who is sane, has reached puberty, and possesses wealth above the nisab threshold.

For those who meet the required conditions, Qurbani is performed every year during Dhul Hijjah as an important act of worship. The Hanafi position holds that it is obligatory while the Maliki, Shafi’i, and Hanbali schools of thought highly emphasize its importance as a Sunnah Mu’akkadah.

Animals eligible for Qurbani include goats, sheep, cows, buffalo, and camels. Each animal must meet age and health requirements according to Islamic guidelines. Generally speaking, this means that the sacrificed animal must not be disabled, visibly defective, or sick, and that it is strong and alert enough to walk to its place of slaughter.

A goat or sheep counts as one full Qurbani. A cow or camel can be divided into seven shares, allowing multiple people to participate.

Yes, you can offer Qurbani on behalf of a family member, a loved one, or someone who has passed away. When you donate via Feeling Blessed, you may clarify your intention in the ‘Preferences ✍️’ upon donation.

Yes, you can give additional Qurbani beyond your obligation, either on behalf of others or as an extra act of voluntary charity. When you donate via Feeling Blessed, you may clarify your intention in the ‘Preferences ✍️’ upon donation.

The Prophet ﷺ also performed Qurbani on behalf of those in his Ummah who could not afford it. Many people choose to follow this Sunnah by giving an extra Qurbani.
